GRANLEA
is an Edwardian property (circa 1933), which has recently
undergone extensive renovation and upgrading, but maintains many original
period features. Glen and
Jackie invite you to stay in
their friendly and welcoming Guest House, which has developed a
reputation for providing excellent ‘value for money’ accommodation.
Many of our guests return to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere
(and the very generous breakfast portions!). From here, visitors may
choose amongst many activities amid spectacular scenery that the
immediate area has to offer.
See the ‘Attractions’ page for more information and ideas on how
to get the most out of your stay. Granlea is also accredited with the STB
‘WALKERS WELCOME’ and ‘CYCLISTS WELCOME’ Awards.
Also included in the STB ‘BIKERS WELCOME’
Scheme, we are fully equipped for touring motorcyclists. Jackie is a keen motorcyclist
with nearly 30 years’ riding experience. See our Motorbikes page for more information.
The house stands on a one acre garden plot in
the centre of BOAT OF GARTEN village, which is located in the heart of
the Cairngorms National Park. It is also known as the ‘Osprey village’
because of its close proximity to Loch Garten and the RSPB reserve. Forest walks can be accessed just
beside the house. Depending
on season, Red Squirrel,
Deer, and Capercaillie can be seen.
