The Guest house
stands on a one acre garden plot in the centre of Boat of Garten village. Located in the heart of the
Cairngorm National Park, this small quaint village is a Highland gem. There is an excellent 18 hole golf
course, from which one can admire an uninterrupted view of the mountains.
Forest walks can be accessed from beside the house
where. Depending on the time
of year, Red Squirrel, Deer, and Capercaillie can be seen.
Granlea House is an
ideal base to reach the slopes of Cairngorm Mountain approximately 25 minutes drive to

The Cairngorm mountains
offer spectacular views from the peak; take the Furnicular Railway up to the
top and look out from the Ptarmigan restaurant. On a clear day you can
see as far as Inverness and the Black Isle

For watersports Loch Morlich and Loch Insh both have excellent
facilities running from April to October. These include Canoeing, sailing
and windsurfing. Loch Morlich is a 15 minute drive , and Loch insh is a
20 minute drive from Granlea.
The Highlands offer
spectacular scenery both in summer and winter. You can hire bicycles from
the local shop. If you are
travelling by motorbike, there’s awesome roads in all directions. Jackie is an enthusiastic motorcyclist
with extensive knowledge of the Highland roads and nearly 30 years’ riding
experience under her belt. She is always happy to get the map out and
show you the best routes, and needs very little encouragement to join in!

For walkers, Granlea is
perfectly located for the Speyside Way,
as well as many other stunning walks. Loch Garten is only a few miles
away and Loch an Eilan has spectacular views of the Cairngorms. These are
only a couple of the many and varied walks on offer in and around Boat of
Garten.
